Metacognitive Reflection

I have grown a little bit as a writer over the course of the semester. After looking back at what I had written in 9 Honors and 10 Honors, my writing now is definitely better in many ways that I did not previously realize. For example, my quotes are more short, yet effective, and they flow more seamlessly into the writing without being stand alone quotes. Also the structure and organization of my writing is better. I have talked to Ms. Nagi about my writing and looked at the feedback given on previous writing assignments that I have done this semester to improve my writing skills over the course of the semester. Providing a thorough analysis is an area where I struggle and need to improve more. I plan to improve my analysis by asking Ms. Nagi for specific things I can improve with my analysis and looking at high-scoring essays on the College Board website from previous years. I also need to fix my problem of being too repetitive in my writing. I plan to do this by using more concise word choices. I am proud of my short response for The Great Gatsby test because I believe that was the response where I gave the best examples and analysis, and overall my response for that test was more insightful compared to other responses. In order to help me further develop my skills, Ms. Nagi can be as specific as possible as to what areas I can improve in, either during a writing conference or through specific comments on my writing.

Raw Score to A.P. Score Conversion for Short Responses:
12/15 = 5
13/15 = 6
15/15 = 9
